Mudra wins AAAI-Cannes Young Creatives Contest

Young Creatives Contest 2007 had been held recently it had been organised by the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) in association with Times Group. This year award was won by Mudra team from Chennai.

The theme for the AAAI-Cannes Young Creatives Contest was ‘Child Labour’. The purpose of the contest is to encourage and nurture young creative talent in the country and provide them with an opportunity for international exposure.A total of 170 entries were received and six were short listed before the winning team was chosen.

The Mudra team will be the official Indian team to take part in the International Young Creatives Contest to be held at Cannes from June 17-23, 2007. The team will compete against other teams from all over the world.The members of the Mudra team are Arun Chakkravarthy (art director, age 25), Mohan Jo Manjooran (art director, age 27) and Mukund Olety (copy writer, age 25).
“The idea conceived of by Mudra team highlighted the effect of child labour on a child’s education. Team stated the fact that child labours hold a child in its control and makes him illiterate.

'Say no to child labour'

Vinod Nair, CEO, Network Advertising, and AAAI executive committee member, was the convener of the contest and Elsie Nanji, managing partner, Red Lion, and KS Chakravarthy, national creative director, Rediffusion DY&R, were jury members.

All the expenses of the winning team’s trip to Cannes will be borne by the Times Group, the official sponsor of Cannes in India.
